DOUNZAN

GESHIKANNON

Dounzan is the first of 88 temples of the Shodoshima Prigrimage. It refers to the clouds that rise from caves of the mountain and hang over the place where the hermits live. It is protected by a mysterious divine power when a light Goddess of Mercy floats on the rock face in summer.
