Message from the President

Our company was founded in Namikata-village (Namikata-cho, Imabari-city, Ehime at present) , a place associated with the Murakami Suigun, which was active in Setonaikai with its outstanding naval power in the Middle Ages, by the Okochi family, a member of the Murakami Genji clan, rooted in the Kitabatake family, which ruled Ise for more than 240 years during the Kamakura and Muromachi periods as Ise provincial governors, court nobles, feudal lords, and military commanders.

We have inherited the DNA as a “People of the Sea”, read the “waves of the times”, grasped the “winds of the future”, under the motto of “self-reliance” and “awareness comes only through practice”.

We have owned over 350 vessels taking an each on site principal and sticking to a teamwork. We will continue delivering highly economical, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, advanced vessels under the circumstances of geopolitical risks, population growth, globalization, borderless economy, digitalization, rapid technological evolution, global environmental issues, accompanying decarbonization and shift to new energy sources.

With our pride as a “People of the Sea” and our determination and resolve to share the same destiny with the seven seas, all of us will continue to push forward without fear of change in order to bring happiness to people, for a better future, and to remain a company that is needed for the development of the global economy.
